Francesca Pastine’s The ArtForum Excavation Series is seriously artistic

Francesca Pastine’s The ArtForum Excavation Series is seriously artistic 1
The NYC-born, San Francisco-based artist Francesca Pastine loves to bring myriad landscapes, socio-political issues, feminine sensibilities and peculiarly modernistic responsiveness to the fore through her incomparable paintings. However, the artist has another knack for creating remarkable artworks out of discarded magazines. The ArtForum Excavation Series demonstrates magazine art in all its glory.

The sculptural pieces of art are created out of ARTFORUM magazine pages. The artist neatly cuts around the paper, while making sure that chosen book parts remain intact to reveal explicitly intricate artistic patterns inside the frame. As Pastine puts it, her manipulations revolve around the central theme of exploring “curious juxtapositions”. Considering the fact that her X-acto blade is the only equipment that helps her create her art, you will go into raptures over the final versions. Browse through the gallery to unravel mysteries behind Francesca Pastine’s exemplary magazine art:
